The wildest part is when Ichigo was preparing for that second attack of the Sokkyoku, he wasn't even serious. He only went full power on the scaffold. Also you can tell how badass Ichigo is in this scene because he's got literal Yamamoto music theme playing in the background.

In retrospect, now that I have more knowledge OF Ichigo, it Geems as iF he didnt solely stop the Phoenix, it just didnt Further advance cause it viewed Ichigo as the soul King or something equivalent cause even though Ichigo had all this power bacc then he didnt know how to use it so the Phoenix should have been able to Follow through regardless OF his attempts...
